Legacy Plumbing is locally owned and operated by the Huckaby family. We established ourselves as an industry leader in the construction arena by providing the same high-quality products, expert craftsmanship, and world-class customer service the Huckaby family has always been known for in the Greater Memphis area. We are the top plumbing contractor in Shelby County, TN for a reason. Since the 1960s, four generations of Huckaby’s have been building meaningful relationships and accommodating the needs of our communities.

The Legacy Timeline

The Huckaby name has a rich history as the Greater Memphis area’s go-to plumbing service. It all began with Bill Huckaby, the grandfather of Legacy Plumbing’s current owner, Eric. Bill began providing plumbing services by starting his company, Whitehaven Plumbing, in the early ‘60s. Since then, four generations of Huckabys have followed the path Bill paved.

  • Bill Huckaby started Whitehaven Plumbing around 1960.
  • Bill’s son, Don, started Don Huckaby Plumbing in 1974.
  • In the mid-90s, Don bought back the Whitehaven Plumbing business from a big franchise brand, bringing the Huckaby brand back into the family.
  • In 2003, Don’s son, Eric, built our current location, and Legacy Plumbing was formed.
  • Legacy Plumbing handled new construction; Don Huckaby Plumbing handled service and repairs.
  • Eric Huckaby bought out his father’s side of the business, Don Huckaby Plumbing, in 2011 when Don retired.
  • The Don Huckaby Plumbing brand continues operations as the service and repair side of Legacy Plumbing.

Legacy Plumbing functions as the business’s main property, but the Don Huckaby Plumbing brand still thrives to this day due to the name and the bright yellow trucks recognized in the Memphis area for so long.
